Grok Bot limits and problems: what to know before you rely on it

Grok Bot can save real time, but it is a young beta. These are the problems reviewers and users have reported so far, and how to work around them.

Short answer

The main issues are weekly usage that can run out fast, a fragile web-browser layer, and the fact that all your Bots share one computer and one set of logins. Some sites push back too: Amazon was reported on October 15, 2026 to be blocking Grok Bots from ordering. It works best for narrow jobs with your approval on.

1. Usage limits can run out fast

No plan publishes a fixed number of tasks, and usage is counted in agent steps and tokens. User reports collected in August 2026 include a business running six Bots that used about 42% of its weekly allowance on day one, and a subscriber whose single workload took about half a week’s allowance. (Those reports were gathered by CellCog, a competitor, so read them with that in mind.) On Cursor’s own forum, one user reported weekly usage hitting 100% after their Bots kept reviewing each other’s work.

What to do: start with one Bot, watch the usage meter for a few days before adding schedules, and avoid setups where Bots check each other in a loop. Decide in advance whether you want paid extra usage switched on.

2. The browser part is fragile

Bots fall back to a web browser when a site has no app connection, and that is where most complaints land. Reported issues include browser profiles resetting and crashes during long sessions. Websites can also block cloud computers or AI agents outright. Tasks that use proper app connections are generally more reliable than tasks that click through websites.

3. All your Bots share one computer and one set of logins

This is the one to understand before connecting anything sensitive. The official FAQ says Bots on the same account are not a security boundary: they share files, browser sessions and logins. A Bot set up to read your calendar can, in principle, reach whatever another Bot is signed in to. Deleting a Bot does not wipe what it left on the computer.

What to do: connect only what a job needs, prefer read-only access where you can, disconnect apps you no longer use, and keep money and admin accounts out of it unless you really need them there.

4. Some websites push back: the Amazon report

On October 15, 2026, a widely shared post on X said Amazon was blocking Grok Bots from placing orders. Elon Musk reposted it and replied that maybe they should start a competitor to Amazon. Amazon did not comment, and it has not publicly confirmed blocking Grok Bot specifically, though it has said unauthorized agent access breaks its conditions of use when another company’s agent was involved. For now, assume some big stores will not cooperate with AI shoppers.

5. It is still a beta, and it changes weekly

Plans, limits and even which subscriptions qualify have changed several times since August. Official pages do not always agree with each other: the launch post and the docs FAQ still list older plans, and the Grok Bot page and the pricing page describe usage multiples slightly differently. Android users reported Bots that stopped responding in the first weeks. Expect things to move, and re-check pricing before you commit to an annual plan.

Questions people ask

Is Grok Bot safe to use?

It has approvals before sending, buying and deleting, and payments use single-use cards. The bigger risk is that all your Bots share the same logins, so connect only what each job needs.

Why did my Grok Bot stop working?

The most common reason is that the weekly usage pool ran out with extra usage switched off. Bots resume at the weekly reset.

Does Amazon block Grok Bot?

It was reported on October 15, 2026, and Elon Musk reacted publicly, but Amazon has not officially confirmed it.
